Sydney 2015 (Day 3)

13 Feb '15

Woke up late and it was already 1.30pm when we arrived at Devon on Danks for our brunch lunch.

View from bus stop in front of QVB

The place was quite full when we arrived. We want to get a table in front of the "Stay Curious" but well it was already occupied.

Looked at the menu for a while and my sister said that their Breakfast with The Sakuma's is good. So we tried it and the Little Lost Bread.

Breakfast with The Sakuma's ($25)

It's a miso grilled king salmon with smoked eel croquette, 63' egg, radish petite salad and kewpi mayonnaise. Really really good, I couldn't stop munching it until nothing left on that plate. One of the best "brunch" I had in Sydney. The salmon was soft and well seasoned, refreshing salad, creamy egg and tasty croquette. I wish I were there right now!

Little Lost Bread ($17)
Little Lost bread is a brioche French toast with freeze dried strawberries, balsamic and strawberry gastrique, strawberry cheesecake ice cream and arnott's biscuit crumble. Not my favorite, didn't really like it, the brioche was quite soft on the inside but the ice cream was icy and too sour for my liking.

On a full stomach we walked to Bourke Street Gallery, I think we took 20 minutes to get there.

And here we are at the famous Bourke Street Bakery. We tried their Ginger Brulee Tart and Sausage Roll.

Ginger Brulee Tart - $5

The brulee was really smooth and had a really strong gingery flavour.

Sausage Roll - $4.5

For the sausage roll, we chose it with lamb, almond and harissa. They served it hot, the pastry was good and so does the filling, the lamb was soft and tasty and I love the crunch from the almond, and their harissa, oh well it made the sausage roll even more better. I recommend you to try, and if you don't like lamb, they also have the Pork and Fennel or you can try their Eggplant, Spinach & Chick Pea & Feta sausage roll. You can click here, if you want to see their menu.

After one hour of walked, we arrived at our 3rd stop - Cafe Cre Asion.

The lone barista who made everyone drink
Matcha Latte - $5
At first sipped, it  was too bitter for my liking and I nagged to my sister that the matcha was so bitter, how come she liked it. But after getting used to it, the latte was actually kind of sweet and I enjoyed it to the last drop.

Next! To the Circular Quay..

Innocent Bystander Pink Moscato ($8.5) - Sauvignon Blanc ($9.5)
Since we didn't know what to do anymore, we just sat at the Opera Bar. It's a great place to just sit back, have a drink and enjoy the view. It was cloudy at first but the sky was getting clearer and brighter and by the time I took a selfie selfies (HAHA, girls gotta do what a girls gotta do), it was too bright for me to open my eyes so it looked more smaller than it already is, so what I'm saying is: always bring your sunglasses! and for you who wear glasses instead of sunglasses, i feel you!

And finally here we are at our last stop - 678! It was 6.30 pm and full of diners. The restaurant is owned by Kang Ho Dong, inside they got funny cartoon pictures of him and many korean celebrity autographs.

Rice - $1
Marinated Wagyu Beef inside skirt MB 8+ ($22)
Wagyu 6+ Boneless Beef Short Rib - $20

Pork Belly Kimchi Stew - $13
Complimentary
We ordered Beef Inside Skirt and Boneless Beef Short Ribs, both were really good and juicy, but the the latter was more tender, so I recommend you to order their short ribs! Their Kimchi Stew was also good but nothing special. And don't forget to ask for their steamed egg, sooo good. Hot, soft and tasty! It was a complimentary, but my sister's friend said that if you don't ask for it, they will not give it to you. So make sure to ask!
